Sometimes we actually run from our calling to step into the healing arts out of fear that we won't be good enough, that we may not be able to succeed financially, or that it will be too challenging a path.

This is very normal -- in fact it is even downright classic for healers to resist the call and fight it out of a desire to be normal, fit in and have a more “stable" predictable life.

I can personally share that I did go through periods of resistance in my own journey at times. When I went to college I got a degree in philosophy and I wanted to be an investigative reporter, after all! And later on I attempted working in the cannabis industry. I fantasized about becoming a makeup artist! But whenever I tried to knock on other doors professionally they simply would not open, and in the rare cases that they did open a crack I found it was only so that I could learn a lesson. Always what came with them was a deep feeling of dissatisfaction and pangs of guilt for not truly honoring my soul and exploring my full potential.

The healers path is indeed challenging at times as we are called to go through difficult initiations to learn to operate in surrendered trust and obedience of the divine as well as open up to a different type of consciousness and to develop our strengths and virtues through, at times, adversity. In one such period I actually prayed to have a different calling and went to ayahuasca ceremony to receive a new assignment! Did it work? Ha! The plant spirit spoke to me very clearly and said: “STOP RESISTING MEDICINE. YOU ARE BEING CALLED.”

Receiving kambo treatments really helped me to finally uplevel and overcome that natural human ego resistance that fears change and especially the submission required to walk this path. But what has helped just as much was learning what happens when I stopped resisting and actually SAID YES

I discovered that the Divine is incredibly generous, merciful and kind and is filled with infinite love for us, that Spirit really wants to shower us with prosperity, miracles and blessings. That life can be incredibly lovely and easeful. That any of my times of resistance and egoic living could be composted into humility, compassion for human struggles, and gems of wisdom. I experienced incredible grace, an amazing benevolent force that seeks to help me and gift unto me at every turn, if only I allow it, so that I can serve the world from a place of feeling incredibly blessed and grateful.

THIS is what awaits those who answer the calling to become a healer, to walk the path of the sacred warrior in service to the light.
